The nursery propagates all its plants from eco-sourced seed collected in-house.
We offer a contract growing service which allows us to eco-source for specific projects and ensure the full quantity and species mix required is available for a project start date. To provide this service we typically require a lead-in time of 18 months to allow for seed collection or alternatively 9 months if seed collection is not required. Contract growing allows us to provide reduced plant supply rates to our customers.
Our plants are grown in a harsh outdoor environment which means they are hardy and well-suited to their end use on revegetation sites. We utilize only the best possible ingredients in our potting mix including a 18-22 month controlled release fertilizer.
We grow primarily in 0.5L grade containers but also use root-trainers, 1.5L and 2.0L pots, however for contract grown plants we can grow in any size required. Unlike a lot of other nurseries we are happy to receive our plastic pots/ trays as we reuse these to reduce waste to landfill.
The nursery utilizes two state of the art Urbanati potting machines to produce the bulk of our seedlings. These machines allow us to produce in excess of 10,000 plants/ day, this efficiency allows us to produce large numbers of plants in a short timeframe and produce consistent lines for large contracts.
